Cheating

So I had to cheat yesterday. Between Swing, FYF meetings and chemistry I had been gone for nearly 7 hours. And I was famished by the time Ken picked me up. And tired. I just didn't want to go home and cook. So we went to Bento's. And I ordered what I usually do a Katsu chicken rice bowl. Which is like fried chicken and white rice-- and really not good for you. But then a funny thing happened. I ate the exact amount I used to (about 3/4ths of the bowl) but then got immense tummy aches afterwards! I think my stomach isn't used to eating a ton of food anymore. Which I guess is good, but kind of weird.
Anyway, do any of you know what that's about? Comment if you do please. Also, I'm going to get back on track today. I have not worked this hard just to give up because of a rough day -.-
Although, this weekend is a dance competition, and I'm not sure how well I'll be eating.......

Cooking Makes meh Happy!

So I challenged myself to cook every night this week, and it has been so incredibly fun. Now I find myself browsing though healthy recipes online in my free time! It's so exhilarating. I used to think being addicted to food was bad because I would go out to eat all the time, but now I figured out I can make those delicious meals at home and actually watch what goes into them. For instance, I made an apple crisp today but used very low amounts of butter and sugar, and instead used more nutmeg and cinnamon. It tasted delicious and had about a fourth of the calories as something at a restaurant. Plus the apple's were fresh!
The scale won't budge. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Almost everyday I go to the gym and do cardio for 30 minutes and then work either lower, upper or abs. I usually end up spending over an hour there. Plus I'm swing dancing a lot and I'm watching what I eat. I don't get it, how much longer do I have to wait until that number goes down :(

//sigh Encouraging comments would be mucho appreciated.

It Burns so Good!!!

So I started implementing what Kai showed me in weights after a half hour of low impact cardio (yay messed up knees!)
I did my core today, so I worked my obliques and abs as well as my back. The back was the hardest to figure out how to work, but luckily there is a rowing machine in my gym, that really works the lats. Which are so important to aerials!!!
Speaking of, Kai and I nailed our aerial today!!!!!!! We look hot!
So... comment a link to your favorite swing aerial :) If you aren't a dancer just youtube "swing dance aerial" and.... then you'll probably want to be one ;D

Oh and on a sad note, I am sitting at 178 as of two minutes ago -.- Stupid scale varies too much. I did stay under calories today though, so I've determined my weight dropping will pick up soon!!!! Encouragement is much appreciated :)

Can you say weights? oh yeah!

So after I did some aerials practicing with my partner Kai, I dragged him to the gym at my apartment complex (which is pretty freakin sweet). He showed me how to use all the stupid weight machines I could never figure out before and we layed out a workout regimen. It goes a little like this:
30 Minutes of Cardio EVERYDAY
Upper Body/Lower Body/Core muscle rotation every three days with one day break in between.
Repeat every week.
3 X 8-12 reps for each muscle group.

Boy am I going to be hurting.....

So! If any of you have a favorite ab/lower/upper body toning exercise, leave a comment. The offer of brownies still holds..... :)

Carabbas!

So I've spent all day with my head in my organic chemistry book. By the time 5pm came around I had 650 calories left because I had worked out earlier. Ken didn't feel like cooking and I sure wasn't going to, so I automatically reached for the Raman. He suggested we go out instead. Which I freaked out about because I ALWAYS over eat at restaurants. But I looked up some calorie counts and found out that one of my favorite foods at Carabbas was only 540 calories for the dinner dish. Still a little amprehensive, I agreed to go (with him paying of course!!)
I politely asked the waitress not to bring bread so that I wouldn't be tempted (200 calories saved right there!) and had a glass of water. Man was I so full when I was done, but I was so happy I was able to stay under my calorie count :)
Maybe this won't be so bad after all?
New weight: 176.5 (probably lost water weight, but hey it's a start!!!)

So... comment with your favorite restaurant calorie steals. You'll be surprised how many of them are posted online :)

Is anyone there? *echo* Well I hope more people start commenting. If you do, I'll bake you one of my famous Death By Chocolate Brownies on my next "cheat day"!

More Recipes Please!

http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Basil-Chicken-over-Angel-Hair/Detail.aspx

Dinner :)
It tasted delicious and it actually wasn't that hard to make! The only part was I had to cook the chicken (because all I had was frozen chicken breasts) and then cube it. So... it took a little longer. Maybe I'll try chicken in a can so I don't have to eat at 10:00pm!

Here's a picture:

Another thing, I had 250 calories left over (probably because I studied all day!) and decided to treat myself to a can of Coke (curse you roomates!!!) which is 140 calories. Ends up it didn't even taste good and I really wish I would have drank a glass of OJ instead which is yummy!

Maybe my body is kicking it back because I'm not drinking 3 cans a day anymore?

See y'all tomorrow.

Mmm Toaster Strudel

So. I need to learn to cook. My whole life has been about processed foods or going out to eat (grandma's don't usually feel like cooking). This obviously isn't going to help. And I think I'll be able to kick the whole "lets just order pizza" thing if I can cook something better quickly. So... any ideas? Comment some recipes that are college budget and time friendly :)

Also, woke up today and went on the elliptical for 25 minutes while reading an organic book -.- off to go study for five hours with my study group, toaster strudel and water bottle in hand. Wish me luck!
